There is now an app that lets you add a little bit of Pittsburgh to any photo. Meet Yinztagram.
This little app lets you add some very Pittsburgh images to any photo. The current version of Yinztagram allows you to add one of the following Pittsburgh icons to anyphoto on your iphone or ipad.
- Primanti brothers sandwich (think of this as Pittsburgh version of the Philly cheesesteak)
- Rick Sebak – filmmaker who is known for documenting all things Pittsburgh
- Incline
- Dippy the Dinosaur – very large dinosaur statue located outside of the Carnegie Museum of Natural history
- Detour sign
- Green Belt sign
- Three Rivers bike rack
Our Twitter research tells us that Yinztagram was dreamed up by Drew at Commonplace Coffee and brought to reality but Matthew Pegula and Colin Miller who both work for Deeplocal.
The app was already featured on the local news and the Yintagram founders were interviewed by Sally Wiggin (also a Pittsburgh icon) – you can watch the interview here.
Here are just a sampling of some of the Yinztagrams that have been created thus far – we are impressed with how many non-Pittsburgh locations have been given some Pittsburgh flair.
