A few weeks ago, the BlogLocal team was lucky enough to be invited on a special food blogger tour hosted by Burgh, Bits, and Bites. Burgh, Bits, and Bites offers historic walking and food tasting tours around the Pittsburgh area. There are currently tours in the Strip District, Lawrenceville, Brookline, Mt. Washington, and Little Italy in Bloomfield. Whether you’re a native or a tourist, these tours are a great way to learn something new about Pittsburgh and try some tasty treats.
For the Dormont tour, we were told to bring our appetites and put on our comfortable shoes for a walking tour that would include several stops at local restaurants. Led by Culinary Cory, a food blogger and food studies graduate student at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, the tour made seven stops and at each place we would learn a little about the history of Dormont and get to sample the food.
